About the position

The Payroll & Benefit Specialist at Farrow is responsible for managing payroll processes, benefits administration, and providing general HR support. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and effective communication of benefits information to employees. The specialist will also assist in recruitment and onboarding processes, making it a vital position within the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees are set up correctly within Dayforce and verify requested changes.
  • Update entitlements for new hires and ensure benefit elections flow to payroll properly.
  • Enter and update garnishments/support payments in payroll.
  • Calculate final payments for terminated employees, including vacation pay.
  • Review and validate timesheets biweekly and address discrepancies with management.
  • Enter payroll adjustments such as service awards and expense reimbursements.
  • Review, validate, and commit payroll, generating post-commit payroll reports.
  • Prepare and validate year-end forms (W2 & 1095C) for ACA reporting.
  • Request EFT payments and file documents into appropriate folders.
  • Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Provide day-to-day benefit administration support and communicate plan information to employees.
  • Administer medical leave requests and ensure proper documentation is collected.
  • Participate in the annual benefit plan review process and prepare for open enrollment.
  • Review and validate benefit billing invoices and prepare reports for finance.
  • Provide day-to-day 401K administration support and participate in annual plan audits.
  • Assist HRBP with recruitment, onboarding, and employee administration.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Benefits, Payroll, or HR Generalist roles.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM is an asset.
