About the position

The position is responsible for assisting with the general program management of payroll, and health and welfare programs. Responsibilities include compliance, administration, and general payroll tasks. The role requires understanding of Paylocity for processing payroll, time and attendance, pay rules, and pay policies. The individual will serve as a payroll backup for processing bi-weekly payroll and will work with all plan vendors to resolve administration and employee issues. Additionally, the position involves providing assistance to human resource staff, management, and the general employee population regarding benefits plans, as well as supporting external and internal audits for payroll and benefits. The role also includes reporting payroll data and benefits as required, assisting employees and managers with payroll-related questions, and having knowledge of state and federal labor laws. The individual is expected to assist with wellness programs and support employees with leaves of absence, working with the vendor administering the leaves. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the general program management of payroll and health and welfare programs.
  • Process payroll using Paylocity, including time and attendance, pay rules, and pay policies.
  • Serve as payroll backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Work with plan vendors to resolve administration and employee issues.
  • Provide assistance to HR staff, management, and employees regarding benefits plans.
  • Support external and internal audits for payroll and benefits.
  • Report payroll data and benefits as required.
  • Assist employees and managers with payroll-related questions.
  • Support wellness programs and assist with leaves of absence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong HRIS background, with Paylocity knowledge being highly beneficial.
  • 2 years of experience processing payroll.
  • Strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of federal and state HR, payroll, and benefits regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad employee base.
  • Strong problem-solving experience and ability.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills; attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or hospice setting.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in payroll and benefits.
