About the position

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist at ABA Centers of America is responsible for managing payroll processes and benefits administration for the organization. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate payroll data processing for both exempt and non-exempt employees, as well as overseeing benefits enrollment and vendor management. The specialist will work closely with the HR team to maintain payroll best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and review weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll time data and employee maintenance.
  • Review and import hours from the time and attendance system and administer regulatory requirements such as garnishments and tax levies.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Audit payroll data entry and employee status changes for accuracy before payroll execution.
  • Manage benefits enrollment, orientation, and auditing monthly invoices.
  • Coordinate with HR on updating employee masterfile changes.
  • Prepare and issue manual checks as required.
  • Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports using UKG Reporting.
  • Plan and administer the annual open enrollment period, including preparing materials and conducting meetings.
  • Address benefit inquiries and resolve discrepancies with carriers and payroll.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with UKG software
  • 2+ years in payroll
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Excel (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws related to income tax withholding and labor regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience calculating compensation for both salaried and hourly employees
  • Clean driving/background/drug screening record.
