About the position

We are in search of a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team, located in Dallas, Texas. This role is part of the contract employment opportunity and it involves overseeing all aspects of payroll and benefits administration in a multi-state setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software systems and a deep understanding of payroll taxes and 401(k) administration. This is a 4-month contract assignment with a hybrid work schedule in downtown Dallas in office Tues, Wed, Thurs; and work remote Mon and Fri).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and processing of multi-state semi-monthly payroll.
  • Coordinate between HR operations and BPO provider to maintain fluidity and accuracy of employee data.
  • Monitor approved timesheets and validate data transfers to and from payroll service.
  • Handle all audits and governance related to payroll, escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage and ensure timely filing and payments of taxes, social security, and other US requirements.
  • Oversee the 401(k) filings and ensure all required actions and governance are adhered to.
  • Manage the company's relocation program and policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide support to employees for self-service channels and handle payroll case management escalations.
  • Maintain and update all payroll relevant work instructions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely sharing of reporting agreed with Finance.
  • Work closely with BPO provider to ensure high-quality results, solution maintenance, and timely resolution of inquiries.
  • Support the development of a global Compliance and Audit system, ensuring all processes and functions have correct approval and supporting documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.
  • Experience with Ceridian and Dayforce software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration is required.
  • Familiarity with About Time software will be considered a plus.
  • Ability to handle Accounting Functions efficiently is necessary.
  • Skills in Auditing and ensuring compliance are critical.
  • Experience in managing Benefit Functions is essential.
  • Expertise in handling Payroll Taxes is mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with About Time software will be considered a plus.
