The Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist position at RCR Consulting is a part-time, fully remote role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adjust their schedule, particularly on Mondays and Tuesdays, which are designated as heavy payroll processing days. This role is designed for individuals who are looking to grow with the company and are not seeking additional employment simultaneously. The work will primarily occur during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, allowing for a reduced schedule while still meeting the demands of the position. In this role, the Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist will be responsible for managing payroll processing and bookkeeping tasks. This includes ensuring accurate calculations and management of accounting figures and financial records. The candidate will utilize various software tools, including ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks, to perform their duties effectively. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing for clients on a timely basis.
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks for payroll and bookkeeping functions.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial records and accounting figures.
  • Conduct data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adjust work hours based on client needs, particularly during peak payroll processing days.

Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping and payroll processing experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks is required.
  • Familiarity with Gusto, Kelly, Bamboo HR, and other ERP and Payroll software.
  • Proven ability to calculate, cost, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Strong data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
