About the position

The Payroll Business Analyst at Select Medical is responsible for conducting analytical work to support payroll processing and compliance within the Payroll Services Department. This role involves analyzing payroll-related functions, enhancing efficiencies, and managing data retrieval from various systems. The position requires collaboration with management and stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations for business improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analytical work to support payroll processing and compliance within all payroll functions.
  • Analyze payroll-related functions, processes, and activities to suggest enhancements for improved efficiencies.
  • Maintain regularly used department references, templates, and databases using Excel, Access, and MicroStrategy.
  • Create and distribute regular and ad hoc reports to management and stakeholders as requested.
  • Manage retrieval and organization of large volumes of data from various timekeeping/payroll systems.
  • Recommend alternative solutions to stakeholders to meet organizational objectives.
  • Review and analyze information to answer business questions.
  • Assist in creating training and reference documents for business-related templates and databases.
  • Troubleshoot and create solutions for issues with pre-built templates and databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in business or finance.
  • 1-2 years of applicable and proven experience in business and data analysis.
  • Proficient in payroll, accounting, and financial principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • PC proficiency and expertise in spreadsheet and database applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge of information systems, reporting, and programming.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with MicroStrategy, Oracle E-Business Suite, UKG and ADP payroll products.
