About the position

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations. This role involves maintaining employee records, performing general ledger reconciliations, and analyzing payroll data to resolve discrepancies. The Payroll Clerk will utilize accounting software and collaborate with the HR department to manage employee benefits and deductions.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain employee records within the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing.
  • Utilize accounting software such as UltiPro or ADP for efficient payroll management.
  • Assist with accounts receivable functions as needed to support overall financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure proper documentation for employee benefits and deductions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and accounting software; experience with UltiPro or ADP is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in technical accounting principles and practices related to payroll processing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
