Payroll Clerk

About the position

Mancan is assisting a local Massillon company in hiring a payroll assistant. We are seeking an experienced payroll clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing employee payroll and ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages. The candidate MUST be detail-oriented, proficient in data entry, ACCURATE, with great problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and completion of tasks & situations. The shift will be from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and pay will be based on experience, ranging from $40,000 to $48,000 annually. We are also looking for someone who will follow through on any situation and maintain a high level of integrity in their work.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage the payroll of employees in a timely and accurate manner.
• Accurate data entry of employee direct deposits, deductions, payroll time, and insurance information.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations regarding payroll.
• Answer employee inquiries about payroll and resolve any issues.
• Maintain accurate employee files and records of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
• Collaborate with front and back office to ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently.
• Provide timely and accurate responses to all payroll inquiries.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing and management.
• Knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Email.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work within a team and complete tasks within a tight deadline.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Good judgment and a high level of personal integrity.
