The Payroll Communication Specialist at BambooHR plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication regarding payroll processes and policies. The specialist will leverage various communication tools to keep clients informed and confident about payroll issues, which in turn aims to reduce case volume in support and enhance software adoption. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration across departments to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. In this position, the Payroll Communication Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing communication strategies that keep both clients and internal employees updated on payroll policies, procedures, and compliance changes. This includes creating and distributing payroll-related materials such as FAQs, help guides, and email communications. The specialist will also coordinate the publication of yearly calendars and maintain accurate records of payroll communications. Staying updated on payroll laws and best practices is essential, as is collaborating with other departments to serve as a resource for payroll information. The day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with the payroll team to streamline communications, coordinating with upstream and downstream teams for alignment, and supporting internal customer experience initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This hybrid position requires some regular in-office days each week, allowing for a blend of remote and in-person collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage communication strategies regarding payroll policies and procedures.
  • Create and distribute payroll-related materials such as FAQs, help guides, and email communications.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to streamline and enhance payroll communications.
  • Coordinate information to publish yearly payroll calendars.
  • Distribute information regarding processing issues or exemptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll communications.
  • Coordinate communication with upstream and downstream teams for alignment.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices for compliance and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with other departments and serve as a resource for payroll information.
  • Support internal Customer Experience communications initiatives and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a payroll communications role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and HR information systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in training and presenting information to diverse audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
