About the position

Frenchette Group is seeking a dedicated Payroll Operations Manager to oversee payroll functions across our establishments. The Payroll Operations Manager will ensure the precise execution of payroll processes throughout the organization. This position will spearhead all payroll-related activities, manage benefits administration, and collaborate with our payroll service provider. A keen eye for detail, exceptional accuracy, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role. In this role, you will act as a liaison between restaurant management and executive teams regarding payroll and associated matters, ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions. You will serve as the primary administrator for payroll systems, including the setup and implementation of system features, maintaining current employee records, user profiles, and coding for earnings, taxes, and deductions. Additionally, you will reconcile hours and financial data from point-of-sale systems, ensuring the accuracy of tip sheets and time clock data for each payroll cycle. Your responsibilities will also include reconciling periodic tax filings and earnings records, including 941s and W-2s, and preparing payroll-related schedules for tax submissions. You will oversee the onboarding process, ensuring timely processing of new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposits, and other payroll adjustments. Furthermore, you will verify and ensure accurate vacation and sick pay eligibility and accruals, collaborate with ADP/Toast to resolve payroll and benefits-related issues, and monitor benefit enrollment eligibility while assisting in the open enrollment process. You will manage COBRA compliance and oversee Affordable Care Act data on ADP for accurate 1095-Cs and EEO reporting. Responding to state and federal inquiries, including unemployment notices and wage verification requests, will also be part of your duties. You will generate reports and assist with projects as needed, including weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting, while supporting team members with payroll-related inquiries and assisting management with onboarding new employees when necessary. Adhering to company policies and procedures is crucial in this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-location setting.
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations in New York City.
  • Experience in processing payroll for large hospitality organizations with multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with ADP Payroll Processing systems.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Capable of working independently to prioritize and complete multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
