About the position

The Payroll Associate position at Performance Foodservice is a critical role responsible for managing the entire payroll life cycle for associates, from hiring to termination. This position ensures that all payroll processes are executed accurately and on time, which is essential for maintaining employee satisfaction and compliance with financial regulations. The Payroll Associate will primarily focus on auditing payroll before submission to the corporate payroll processor, ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date. This includes running reports from the HR software and addressing any payroll-related inquiries from employees and supervisors. The role also involves coordinating and processing irregular payments such as sales draws and bonuses, as well as maintaining the commission system and payroll for drivers and warehouse staff. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Associate will be responsible for ensuring that the timekeeping system is accurately maintained by associates and supervisors. This includes tracking hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, and any changes in employee information. The Payroll Associate will communicate regularly with local accounting and corporate payroll teams regarding HR and payroll matters, assist with the reconciliation of payroll against financial records, and participate in special projects as needed. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with payroll software, specifically the UKG platform, is also essential, or the ability to learn it quickly.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn payroll software, specifically the UKG platform.
