About the position

The Payroll Associate position at Performance Foodservice is a critical role that supports the payroll life cycle from hire to termination. This position is responsible for ensuring that all associates are paid accurately and on time, which is essential for maintaining employee satisfaction and compliance with labor laws. The Payroll Associate will audit payroll before submission to the corporate payroll processor, ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date. This includes maintaining detailed records of hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, and any changes in employee information. In addition to payroll auditing, the Payroll Associate will run reports from the HR software and respond to inquiries from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters. The role also involves coordinating and processing any irregular payments, such as sales draws and bonuses, and assisting with communications to employees about changes in payroll. The Payroll Associate will work closely with local accounting and corporate payroll teams to reconcile payroll against financial records and assist with special projects as needed. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Associate payroll life cycle from hire to termination.
  • Audit payroll before submission to corporate payroll processor.
  • Run reports from the HR software.
  • Answer questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters.
  • Coordinate and process any irregular payments such as sales draws and bonus payments.
  • Assist with communications to employees regarding changes in payroll.
  • Maintain and enter data into the commission system, driver, and warehouse payroll.
  • Ensure the timekeeping system is kept up to date by associates and supervisors.
  • Communicate regularly with local accounting and corporate payroll on HR and payroll matters.
  • Assist with reconciliation of payroll against financial records.
  • Perform special projects as needed and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software, specifically the UKG platform.
