About the position

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 1,000 employees across multiple states. This role involves adhering to payroll procedures, internal controls, and compliance with federal and state wage laws. The Payroll Coordinator will also provide support in onboarding new hires and managing payroll inquiries, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for at least 1,000 employees in multiple states.
• Audit new hire information in the payroll system against source documents.
• Maintain employee-related information in the payroll system, including personnel changes and deductions.
• Verify address, tax elections, and direct deposit changes.
• Calculate and process retroactive payments and adjustments.
• Perform payroll register audits and reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
• Coordinate lien and garnishment issues with service providers.
• Track timecard issues and ensure timesheets are complete and approved.
• Review time and attendance reports and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one or more years of related experience.
• Two to three years of ADP experience in payroll processing.
• 0 to 2 years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of ADP Enterprise and payroll reporting.
• Detail-oriented and organized with good analytical skills.
