About the position

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to maintain complete financial records. This role involves routine calculations, postings, and verifying duties to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and compliance with regulations. The Payroll Coordinator supports the Finance Department by managing payroll information, overseeing time-clocking software, and addressing any payroll-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Paylocity Time & Labor is accurate and completed by the payroll cutoff date
  • Maintain accurate records of employee hours, wages, and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices
  • Frequent verbal and written communication with colleagues
  • Responsible for accounts payable, processing invoices in a timely manner
  • Processing billing for client services bi-weekly
  • Timely upkeep of existing and upcoming contracts (service agreements)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in G Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Paylocity is a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
