About the position

The Payroll Coordinator at English Gardens is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions. This includes managing salaries, benefits, garnishments, bonuses, and various deductions. The role requires close collaboration with management to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with payroll laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process corporate performance bonuses and other yearly compensation.
  • Prepare for W/C audits and manage their preparation.
  • Report on labor budgets and align earnings codes with ADP.
  • Process fringe benefits for all management and associate levels.
  • Prepare shareholder wage projections and landscape commission reports.
  • Collaborate with management in retail and landscape operations for accurate ADP hour reporting.
  • Prepare weekly PTO reports for all locations and associates.
  • Generate weekly headcount reports for management.
  • Process W-2s, including sorting, mailing, and coding with health information.
  • Handle ACA mailings and filings (1094 & 1095) in collaboration with ADP.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries, wage verifications, and employment verifications.
  • Manage employee records and filing systems.
  • Process STD earnings and FSA refund payments, and prepare benefit renewal inputs.
  • Develop ADP reporting to manage coded data for labor budget presentations.
  • Assist with ADP management of security and permissions for users.
  • Maintain the payroll schedule for upcoming years.
  • Stay updated with state and federal payroll law changes, including minimum wage and FLSA regulations.
  • Assist in the 401K audit and confirmations process.
  • Track and administer FFCRA paid leave.
  • Teach, train, and lead management in entering labor transfers to different pay departments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of payroll experience preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional certification required.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing systems such as ADP.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to make difficult decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in a related field is desirable but experience is preferred in a high-functioning payroll setting.
