About the position

Aspire Indiana Health is currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our team. This position is hybrid, allowing for remote work with some on-site requirements, and candidates must reside in Indiana. As a nonprofit provider of comprehensive "whole health" services, Aspire Indiana Health serves individuals across Central Indiana, providing primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services, and programs that address social drivers of health such as housing and employment. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the biweekly, multi-site processing of payroll and all related functions, including timekeeping, auditing, ACHs, vendor payments, and tax payments. This role also involves managing the workers' compensation program at Aspire. The Payroll Coordinator will cross-train to serve as backup for the Benefits Coordinator and will provide support to other Human Resources team members. Collaboration with the Manager of Compensation and Benefits and the HR team is essential to ensure operational goals are met. Additionally, the role may involve engagement in other HR functional areas, including benefits, employee relations, talent management, engagement and retention, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll for multiple sites
  • Manage timekeeping and auditing functions

  • Oversee the workers' compensation program
  • Cross-train to support the Benefits Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the HR team to meet operational goals
  • Engage in various HR functions including benefits and employee relations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in payroll processing or benefits administration
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, preferably with an HRIS system
  • Experience in healthcare and/or non-profit sectors preferred
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation for trainings and meetings

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the behavioral health field
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems
