About the position

The Payroll Coordinator at Exodus HR Group is responsible for managing payroll, timekeeping, and benefits administration for 55-65 assigned clients. The role aims to alleviate administrative burdens from clients, allowing them to focus on their core business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and benefits administration, along with excellent communication skills to effectively support clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process assigned client payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate mailing specified live checks to client locations on time.
  • Work collaboratively with internal HR, benefits, and tax teams to ensure accurate communication to clients.
  • Enter employee changes, new hires, and terminations to keep the UKG platform updated.
  • Assist payroll team members with double-checking payroll reports and employee changes.
  • Ensure compliance for each client according to IRS and FLSA guidelines, as well as state-specific requirements.
  • Develop and configure streamlined solutions for client payroll and timekeeping processes via the UKG Ready platform.
  • Provide extensive knowledge on the UKG Ready software to answer client questions.
  • Collaborate with the internal payroll team to streamline current processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll processing and customer service.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) must be obtained within one year of employment if not currently certified.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing and FLSA guidelines.
  • Basic tax knowledge and experience with garnishments or child support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality and follow directions.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to learn software programs, especially UKG Ready.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with UKG Ready payroll, HR, or timekeeping platform is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
