About the position

The Payroll Data Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll data. This position involves a thorough review and analysis of pre and post payroll reports to verify the accuracy of data received for payroll processing. The specialist will identify, research, and report on trends observed in payroll data, providing recommendations for resolution as necessary. In addition to data verification, the Payroll Data Assurance Specialist will provide support, research, and project assistance for various payroll teams. This includes reviewing and auditing payroll earnings, deductions, and time card issues, as well as auditing equity transactions and making necessary adjustments. The specialist will also be responsible for resolving call center tickets related to payroll inquiries and processing pay frequency transfers in coordination with division and store HR teams. The position demands a self-starter who can perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision while maintaining discretion and confidentiality. The ability to work well with others and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of data received for payroll through review and analysis of pre and post payroll reports.
  • Identify, research, and report on trends observed with recommendations for resolution as needed.
  • Provide support, research, and project assistance for various payroll teams.
  • Review and audit payroll earnings, deductions, and time card issues.
  • Audit equity transactions and adjust as applicable.
  • Resolve call center tickets as assigned.
  • Process pay frequency transfers and coordinate with division and store HR as needed.
  • Provide support to other payroll departments.

Requirements

  • Minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to use discretion and maintain confidential information.
  • Self-starter with ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Desired payroll experience, with knowledge of Oracle cloud-based or other payroll systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Auditing experience.
