About the position

Wallcon, a leading contractor for Arizona's top homebuilders, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Data Entry Assistant to join our concrete team in Gilbert, AZ. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19 to $22, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for high-volume payroll data entry for approximately 1,000 employees, processing over 3,000 timesheets weekly. This role requires a strong work ethic, dependability, and excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and employees. In this position, you will verify timesheets and liaise with field superintendents to address any discrepancies. You will also create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track payroll data, ensuring accuracy in regular and overtime hours before payroll processing. Additionally, you will research payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant information, respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, and keep filing organized and up to date. The Payroll Data Entry Assistant will also provide backup support for payroll team members during vacations or absences and undertake other duties as directed by the Payroll Manager. To succeed in this role, candidates must have experience in high-volume payroll data entry, with a typing speed of 65+ words per minute and ten-key skills of 10,000+ KPM. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word, is essential, and experience with QuickBooks or third-party payroll software is preferred. The candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion. Responsibilities

  • Perform high volume payroll data entry for 1000 employees and 3000+ timesheets weekly.
  • Verify timesheets and contact field superintendents regarding potential errors.
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for payroll data tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy of time entered (regular, overtime, etc.) before processing payroll.
  • Research payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries via telephone and email to clarify or resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Keep filing organized and up to date.
  • Provide backup support for payroll team members during vacations or absences.
  • Complete other duties and projects as directed by the Payroll Manager.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in high volume payroll data entry.
  • Typing speed of 65+ WPM and ten-key skills of 10,000+ KPM required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • QuickBooks experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with third-party payroll software is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized under pressure.
