The Payroll Data Clerk performs a wide range of duties to assist the payroll department and ensure accurate and timely pay to our employees. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of payroll data and ensuring that all employees are compensated correctly and on time. The Payroll Data Clerk will be responsible for entering accurate employee information and pay data, processing new hire reports, and assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work under tight deadlines and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Data Clerk will also assist in employee verification of employment requests and help employees register for or reset access to online pay stubs. This role is crucial in fostering a positive employee experience by providing timely and accurate payroll support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily payroll department operations.
  • Enter accurate employee information and pay data.
  • Submit new hire reports to the state.
  • Process employee verification of employment requests.
  • Assist employees in registering for or resetting access to online pay stubs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous payroll experience is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Good customer service skills and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills and proficiency in using office equipment.
  • Ability for decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
