About the position

The Payroll Financial Analyst position at Genuine Parts Company involves compiling and analyzing financial information to support the organization's financial health. The role requires the creation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded. The analyst will be responsible for recording journal entries, performing variance analysis, and conducting account reconciliations. This position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting within the company. In this role, the analyst will evaluate financial trends, identify and investigate any unusual or unexpected account variances, and prepare management reports and ad hoc analyses as needed. The responsibilities also include reconciling transactions by comparing and correcting data, identifying financial variances by comparing actual results with planned forecasts, and ensuring that general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The analyst will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for performance improvement across the organization and promoting teamwork between operational groups and departments. The position requires a proactive approach to financial analysis and a commitment to accuracy and detail. The analyst will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall financial strategy and operational efficiency of the company.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team player.
