About the position

The Payroll Specialist/Human Resources Assistant at Black River Technical College is responsible for processing payroll and supporting human resources functions. This full-time position involves ensuring payroll accuracy, managing employee status changes, and completing HR-related reports and contracts. The role is essential for maintaining the financial and administrative operations of the college.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for the College, including verifying payroll data accuracy.
  • Calculate and reconcile payroll balances based on employee status changes.
  • Complete payroll reports and enter benefit data in related systems.
  • Process W2s and other payroll-related activities.
  • Complete human resources related reports and tasks as needed.
  • Develop and process yearly full-time contracts.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Ability to substitute other job-related education and/or experience for basic requirements.
