About the position

Up2Us Sports is seeking a Payroll/HR Specialist responsible for processing payroll and ensuring the accuracy of timesheets for coaches and staff. This role also involves delivering all Human Resource administrative functions efficiently and in a timely manner. The position reports to the National Director of People and Culture and collaborates with the Finance and Program Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process multiple payrolls.
  • Enter, maintain, and process payroll information including hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, time worked, and deductions.
  • Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes and benefits.
  • Maintain payroll information related to federal, state, and local payroll taxes.
  • Prepare employee communications related to payroll.
  • Audit time and attendance systems.
  • Run ad hoc reports and create files as needed.
  • Create and maintain confidential payroll files.
  • Aid in the administration of employee benefits and manage new hire enrollments.
  • Assist with staff onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Support the talent acquisition process including posting roles and facilitating interviews.
  • Audit HR, payroll, and benefits data for accuracy.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefit providers.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting/Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • 3-5 years of administrative, clerical, or operational experience required.
  • Experience with processing multi-state payroll and BambooHR is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and be self-motivated.
  • Highly organized and able to organize on behalf of others.

  • Experience working with remote team members.
  • Experience with BambooHR and its payroll processing functions.
