About the position

The Payroll & HR Specialist at ProService Hawaii plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll and HR administration. This position is dedicated to providing exceptional service and support for payroll and benefits inquiries, fostering trust and satisfaction among employees. The specialist will manage payroll processes, oversee HR operations, and generate reports, all while maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain timecard approvals from supervisors/managers and process weekly payroll.
  • Process supplemental payroll for commissions, bonuses, separations, etc.
  • Audit payroll in detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Partner with Tax Compliance on Year End activities (W2s, W2-Cs).
  • Manage the HRIS system and employee workflows.
  • Oversee benefit plan management, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process leave requests (FMLA, TDI, WC, etc.) and maintain employee data.
  • Track Certification Reimbursements.
  • Provide on-demand, recurring, and ad-hoc internal HR reports.
  • Conduct Annual Internal HR Audit in partnership with Accounting.

Requirements

  • 5 years of payroll experience required, including proficiency in multi-state payroll regulations.
  • 3 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with programs such as Prism and/or iSolved is preferred.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and auditing.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all employees and address inquiries promptly.
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal payroll regulations and compliance.
