About the position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. This role applies basic to intermediate level of subject matter knowledge and understanding of a function's principles, theories, and concepts to assignments of limited to moderately complex scope. The position utilizes professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education, or previous experience. The individual will exercise independent judgment within defined parameters and develop expertise and practical knowledge of applications within the business environment. As a team member, the role involves providing information, analysis, and recommendations in support of team efforts, following established guidelines, and interpreting policies. The individual will evaluate unique circumstances and make recommendations accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Performs elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements for projects of moderate complexity.
  • Documents as-is and to-be processes.
  • Participates in RFx processes.
  • Creates use cases and corresponding UAT test cases.
  • Manages requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrates technical and non-technical proficiency.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams.
  • Develops solutions to smaller projects.
  • Represents team to clients/customers.
  • Consults with team members and customers on issues.
  • Ensures information security policies and standards are understood and assists the business in assessing risks and applying standards and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university.
  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in an I.T. development environment.
  • Experience of one or more full release cycles.
  • Basic understanding of modern software development methodologies (Object).
  • Basic understanding of information security procedures and practices.
  • Basic understanding of data management practices.
  • Basic understanding of modern software development tools and SCM (software configuration management).
  • Basic understanding of Software Test methodologies, test scripting, and testing tools.
  • Understanding of Basic Database Administration.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good meeting planning and facilitation skills.
  • Good attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with standard business processes.
