About the position

The Payroll & HRIS Manager at Odyssey is responsible for managing payroll processes for both union and non-union employees across multiple states and a team of international employees. This role requires expertise in payroll systems and compliance to support the company's growing workforce. The position is primarily onsite in Anaheim, with the potential for a hybrid schedule after an initial period.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll cycles across multi-state and international locations.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain payroll compliance and handle inquiries from federal and state agencies as needed.
  • Train and support supervisors on wage laws and company payroll policies.
  • Manage benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain HRIS records and generate reports as required.
  • Collaborate with payroll vendors to streamline platform usage and manage payroll deductions for third parties and tax authorities.
  • Administer employee benefits, including eligibility, new hire enrollments, and qualifying life events.
  • Coordinate with brokers for benefits, retirement, and workers compensation, assisting employees with questions and resolving issues.
  • Manage billing, reconciliation, and check requests for benefits.
  • Handle all monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting.
  • Address employee questions about pay and benefits deductions with prompt follow-up.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-site, multi-state, or international payroll.
  • Experience with union and/or international payroll.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll software; experience with Paylocity is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
