About the position

The Payroll/HRIS Manager is responsible for overseeing payroll processes and maintaining the integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), specifically UKG. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while utilizing the HRIS to enhance HR operations. The manager will handle payroll adjustments, maintain employee records, assist in benefits administration, and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll elements accurately.
  • Process payroll adjustments, including salary changes, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the HRIS system (UKG Ready Partner).
  • Maintain employee records, including personal information, employment history, benefits, and payroll data.
  • Implement and oversee system updates, enhancements, and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to HRIS functionality and collaborate with vendor for resolution.
  • Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices to ensure accuracy for payment approval.
  • Educate employees on available benefits and assist with inquiries related to benefits.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and HR processes through system enhancements or procedural changes.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to implement best practices and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist, preferably using HRIS (UKG) or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
