About the position

The Payroll & HRIS Technology Manager at Gallagher is responsible for overseeing payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring compliance with payroll tax laws, and managing client relationships. This role involves project management for payroll and HRIS implementations, troubleshooting payroll tax issues, and providing guidance on best practices. The position offers a flexible work schedule and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll and HRIS systems to ensure compliance with payroll tax laws.
  • Manage client relationships in a customer-centric environment.
  • Troubleshoot payroll tax issues and provide root cause identification.
  • Research and resolve tax agency notices effectively.
  • Set up state income, state unemployment, and local jurisdiction profiles for payroll utilization.
  • Develop and execute project plans for payroll/HRIS implementations.
  • Utilize Excel for data analysis, including creating formulas and Pivot Tables.

Requirements

  • Experience in a variety of Payroll & HRIS systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide payroll tax compliance assistance and guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Previous experience in project management of payroll/HRIS projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with major payroll/HRIS platforms such as ADP, Ceridian, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, Paylocity, Rippling, UKG, or Workday.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a virtual team environment.
