About the position

The Payroll & HRIS Technology Specialist at Gallagher Benefit Services plays a crucial role in enhancing client payroll and HRIS platforms. This position focuses on identifying process improvements, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The specialist will work both autonomously and within a virtual team to deliver high-quality service and support to clients, ultimately contributing to a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend process improvements such as training, customization, automation, and enhancements to maximize the value and efficiency of our client's payroll/HRIS platform
  • Build and maintain client relationships in a customer-centric environment
  • Successfully manage several projects and/or clients simultaneously in a highly organized manner
  • Create and document standard payroll processing procedures
  • Work in a virtual team environment or autonomously completing tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Provide payroll compliance assistance and guidance, as well as communicate best practices
  • Prioritize meeting client deliverables and deadlines

Requirements

  • Experience with any major payroll/HRIS platform (e.g. ADP, Ceridian, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, Paylocity, Rippling, UKG, or Workday)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a payroll specialist or payroll administrator type role
  • Proficiency in Excel, including creating formulas, Pivot Tables, and the use of VLOOKUP
  • Attention to detail, comfort with numbers, problem-solving ability, and the ability to operate in a highly confidential setting
  • Experience with payroll taxes and quarterly/annual reconciliations with the ability to troubleshoot issues resulting in root cause identification

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with other payroll/HRIS platforms is a plus
  • End to end payroll processing
