About the position

The Payroll/Human Resource Associate is responsible for processing the company's semi-monthly payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with payroll policies and relevant laws. This role involves addressing staff inquiries regarding wages and deductions, resolving discrepancies in payroll records, and supporting HR functions related to employee relations and leaves of absence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and human resources, particularly in a mid-sized company setting.

Responsibilities

  • Process the company's semi-monthly payroll.
  • Maintain payroll records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data into Paycom.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate data.
  • Answer staff questions regarding wages, deductions, attendance, and time records.
  • Process employee changes and adhere to payroll policies and procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records.
  • Create, review, and track various spreadsheets.
  • Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.
  • Distribute wages through Fintwist pay cards, manual checks, or bank accounts.
  • Work with Field support on corrections and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Partner with managers to support overall employee and HR needs.
  • Assist HR Manager in resolving various employee relation issues.
  • Receive and coordinate requests for Leaves of Absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Human Resource and Payroll experience with a group size of 200 or more employees.
  • Experience working with Payroll Systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good verbal communication skills with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Analytical skills with knowledge of Federal and State Laws in multiple states.
  • Experience with onboarding, terminations, benefits, wage deductions, and maintaining employee files.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
