About the position

The Payroll/Human Resources (HR) Manager at Systems Unlimited is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments to employees. This role involves collaboration with various departments to validate payroll information, resolve discrepancies, and provide exceptional service to employees. The position is based in Iowa City and may require occasional travel to outlying service areas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all essential payroll functions and ensure compliance with applicable laws and accounting principles.
  • Assist with various audit preparations and special projects as required.
  • Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll and HR, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure completion of all required reports for internal and external use, including quarterly tax reports and W-2s.
  • Support HR functions such as background check audits, electronic workflow processes, and annual employee performance reviews.
  • Oversee and organize employee files and related activities within the HRIS system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a combination of post-secondary education and experience totaling at least five years.
  • Advanced experience with electronic spreadsheets and integrated computerized accounting systems.
  • Background in accounting and payroll with leadership experience.
