About the position

The Payroll / Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and assisting with various HR administrative operations at Kaplan Automotive Group's Amherst Subaru dealership. This role involves managing payroll for approximately 100 employees across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and maintaining employee records. Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for approximately 100 employees.
  • Assist with HR administrative daily operations including onboarding new hires.
  • Perform data entry and maintain employee files.
  • Administer employee benefit plans and manage sick leave and time off requests.
  • Maintain employee records for new hires, transfers, and terminations.
  • Process background checks and drug tests for new applicants.
  • Safeguard confidential materials and information.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Payroll / Human Resources Specialist.
  • Automotive dealership experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
