About the position

The Payroll/Labor Manager at Crescent Hotels and Resorts is a key member of the Accounting Team responsible for coordinating and managing the resort's labor and productivity. This role involves providing analytical reporting, leading labor meetings, and overseeing day-to-day payroll processing in accordance with company policies. The manager will collaborate with payroll staff, hotel management, employees, and third-party providers, acting as a liaison between the resort's accounting team and the corporate accounting office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the Resort's labor and productivity through analytical reporting and labor meetings.
  • Perform day-to-day payroll processing activities as defined by company procedures.
  • Define productivity targets in coordination with department leaders, Controller, and Managing Director.
  • Provide analytical reporting on labor productivity and overtime to department managers.
  • Develop and implement productivity projects to reduce costs and improve profitability.
  • Lead projects and coach other project leaders on implementing improvements.
  • Align forecast with actual payroll hours by creating staffing guides with department leaders.
  • Compile and process data from the time & attendance system and verify accuracy for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Maintain reconciliations of general ledger balance sheet accounts, focusing on gratuities and payroll deductions.
  • Respond timely and accurately to inquiries from taxing authorities, auditors, and department heads.

Requirements

  • Background in accounting is required.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
  • Good logic and maturity with strong calculator and typing skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of mathematics and accounting principles.
  • Pleasant demeanor with the ability to deal with the public and a sense of priority.
  • Desire to be an integral part of a team and take pride in a job well done.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
