About the position

The Payroll Manager position at JGA Recruitment Group offers an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional to join a dynamic and evolving team within a prestigious professional services firm. This role is primarily focused on overseeing the timely and accurate processing of all domestic, international, and partner payrolls for the firm’s clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Payroll Specialists, ensuring that payroll processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. In this role, the Payroll Manager will lead and motivate a team of US and International Payroll Specialists, managing the payroll for approximately 2,000 employees. The manager will also provide primary back-up coverage for all supervised payroll positions, stepping in to perform payroll processing as needed. A critical aspect of the role involves reviewing, auditing, and approving payrolls, funding requests, and routine payroll tasks, ensuring that there is adequate separation of duties and robust financial controls in place. Additionally, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for training, managing, and evaluating staff, fostering a high-performing team environment. Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of US & International Payroll Specialists, processing a 2,000 employee payroll.
  • Provide primary back-up coverage for all supervised payroll positions, personally performing payroll processing when needed.
  • Review, audit, and approve payrolls, funding requests, and routine payroll tasks, ensuring adequate separation of duties and financial controls.
  • Train, manage, and evaluate staff, fostering a high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years' experience in payroll.
  • Professional payroll certification (e.g. CPP).
  • Degree educated.
  • Workday payroll experience preferred.
  • Professional services experience preferred.
