The Payroll Manager, located at Fenway Park, is responsible for overseeing and controlling general office functions, which include light Human Resource administration and union administration duties where applicable. This role primarily supervises day-to-day data collection and is responsible for completing basic accounting reports. The Payroll Manager plays a crucial role in assisting unit management with the completion of standard monthly management reports, ensuring that all payroll-related processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws. In this position, the Payroll Manager manages and guarantees the disbursement of payroll, benefits, and taxes in accordance with government wage and hour laws. The role requires ensuring that the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations is both accurate and timely. Active communication with Operations, Human Resources, and Billing is essential to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing effectively. The Payroll Manager leads the regular preparation of relevant management reports, which include weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports. This position is also responsible for the operation of all accounting systems and records, which encompass cash receipts, expenditures, investments, purchasing, inventory, assets, and payroll. Additionally, the Payroll Manager ensures that written performance evaluations of supervised employees are completed as required, providing continuous feedback on personnel performance issues and taking immediate action to recognize achievements and address deficiencies or problems. A key aspect of this role is to foster a work culture that promotes open, frequent, and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives. The Payroll Manager must meet deadlines for financial documents, reconcile bank accounts, and verify the bank balance with the general ledger. Furthermore, this position supervises all month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including the preparation and entry of journal entries for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger computer systems.
