About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our accounting team at Watsonville Community Hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, particularly in general ledger accounting, and proficiency in payroll software. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for analyzing and resolving any payroll discrepancies, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. In this position, you will manage and process payroll for all company employees, including bi-weekly and weekly payroll. You will ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, taxes, and benefits, while maintaining a detailed and accurate general ledger account. Analyzing and resolving payroll discrepancies and errors will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with preparing and submitting quarterly and annual tax reports. You will also manage and maintain payroll-related records and files, collaborating with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely data entry. Utilizing accounting software to manage and analyze payroll data will be essential, as well as developing and implementing payroll procedures and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. You will provide training and support to other employees as needed and stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Proven experience in payroll management, preferably with experience in general ledger accounting
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in payroll software
  • Ability to analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to perform 10-key typing
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with ADP systems and payroll software preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
