About the position

Camber Corporation, a Real Estate Company located in Orange County, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 500 employees across all properties. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter, energetic, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, preparing various reports including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end summaries that encompass gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, and benefit deductions. Additionally, the role involves verifying employment, managing unemployment claims, and handling garnishments. The Payroll Manager will support audits, 401k, and workers' compensation reporting requirements by gathering and analyzing data, as well as addressing other special requests. This position requires auditing all new hires, rehires, and employee changes, processing terminations, and issuing final payments. The successful candidate will prepare all necessary payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll to ensure accuracy. Staying current on payroll systems is essential to achieve alignment with HR benefits and to provide effective accounting support. Furthermore, the Payroll Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws for multi-state payroll and coordinate the integration and setup of new pay groups for acquired companies. The role also includes processing tips, commissions, and bonus files, making it a vital position within the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of management experience in a multi-state employer organization.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures thoroughly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
