About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing within our organization, a 128 bed inpatient facility. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of payroll systems, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including Human Resources and the corporate office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy in data entry and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of payroll reports, including account reconciliation and tax filings.
  • Utilize payroll software such as Kronos and WellSky for efficient payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurately reflect compensation changes.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits related to payroll processes.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact payroll processing.
  • Train and mentor team members on payroll best practices and systems.

Requirements

  • Proficient in payroll software (Kronos, WellSky) with a strong understanding of financial concepts related to payroll processing.
  • Knowledgeable in tax regulations affecting payroll, including federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on account reconciliation.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments effectively.
  • Experience in payroll is required.
