About the position

The Payroll Manager at ICW Group is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for multiple companies across various geographic locations. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll administration while maintaining compliance with legal requirements. The manager will lead the payroll team, implement efficient processes, and collaborate with HR and finance departments to enhance payroll operations and team member satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Payroll process for all ICW Group Companies.
  • Manages all aspects of payroll including routine processing, tax and benefits compliance, and reporting.
  • Stays current with industry best practices and payroll technologies.
  • Implements and maintains payroll processing systems for accurate payroll transactions.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Collaborates with HR, finance, and other departments for seamless payroll operations.
  • Drives process improvements in Workday focusing on efficiency and employee experience.
  • Processes and tracks payroll-related items including bonuses and deductions.
  • Creates and distributes bi-weekly payroll reports to Finance.
  • Reconciles payroll accounts for tax liability and wage summaries.
  • Initiates processes for setting up ICW companies as employers in new states.
  • Establishes and posts annual payroll period and holiday calendars.
  • Processes payroll-related documents and responds to verification requests.
  • Administers annual end of year and W-2 processes.
  • Prepares and processes off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as needed.
  • Responds to payroll-related inquiries and maintains confidentiality.
  • Works with the HRIS team to maintain payroll systems and implement upgrades.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in HR, Payroll or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of payroll experience, with at least three years in a multi-state employer environment.
  • Experience with Workday for payroll processing required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • APA Certification/membership preferred.
