About the position

The Payroll Manager at Aston Carter is responsible for establishing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings. This role involves collaboration with various internal stakeholders to enhance payroll operations and improve the associate experience. The Payroll Manager will also provide performance management feedback and recommendations for team members, contributing to a best-in-class payroll operation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
  • Accurately calculate wages, company deductions, garnishments, tax withholding, bonus payments, and deferred stock payments.
  • Perform analysis and generate reports.
  • Assist with special projects to streamline processes and improve procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address complaints, support information requests, resolve issues, and implement changes.
  • Provide performance management feedback and recommendations on individual performance of team members to staff.

Requirements

  • ADP Vantage experience is a must.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Experience with union and non-union payroll processing.
  • 7-10+ years of payroll experience.
  • 4+ years of payroll management experience.
  • 3+ years of ADP Vantage experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPP certification is preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll for 2,800+ employees.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to resolve payroll variances and provide reporting support.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to a changing environment.
