The Payroll Manager oversees and supervises the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of payroll processing systems and ensuring that all payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for both union and non-union employees, are handled efficiently on a weekly basis. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, and facilitating audits by providing necessary documentation to auditors. In addition to overseeing payroll processing, the Payroll Manager will play a key role in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff within the department. This position requires strong leadership skills to develop and lead payroll staff, oversee daily workflow, and provide constructive performance evaluations.
