About the position

The Payroll Manager is responsible for administering and managing payroll for three legal entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role involves processing payroll bi-weekly, maintaining payroll records, and supervising payroll activities to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Payroll Manager also handles gratuities, payroll deductions, and federal/state reporting, while performing ad hoc analyses as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll systems to ensure all associates are paid correctly and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Maintain payroll recordkeeping including TORFs, PAFs, gratuity/bonus/commission backup, and missed punch records.
  • Manage interfaces between payroll systems and accounting software, processing daily/weekly interface loads as required.
  • Oversee and administer payroll records for all associates, including month-end accruals and allocation entries for payroll costs.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts related to payroll.
  • Administer payroll deductions for group insurance, 401k, tax deposits, and garnishments.
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports and analyses as directed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and advise department managers accordingly.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred with emphasis in Hospitality.
  • At least two years' experience managing a payroll function in a similarly sized organization or unit.
  • In-depth experience with ADP or similar payroll systems, 401K administration, and Labor Management systems is a plus.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and numerical acumen.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial information and create reports and forecasts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some hospitality experience preferred.
