About the position

As a Payroll Manager at Inspire Brands, you will oversee and manage the company's payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll for all team members in compliance with government regulations. This role involves managing payroll staff, coordinating with other departments, and continuously improving payroll processes. You will also provide support to the Payroll Director and drive cross-functional partnerships to enhance efficiency workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all team members.
  • Manage and support the payroll team, providing training, guidance, and development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax filings.
  • Develop and document payroll policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools to streamline payroll processes.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Assist with research and resolution of complex payroll related matters.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items.
  • Support the Payroll Director in managing multiple project deliverables on time.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Experience (3-5 years) in multi-state full cycle payroll with an emphasis on delivering cross-functional project management required.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Workday or comparable software required.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a highly structured team environment.
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to outlined procedures.
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuations.
