About the position

The Payroll Manager at Fusion Connect is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding payroll matters. This role involves managing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with various internal stakeholders to maintain accurate payroll records and facilitate audits. The Payroll Manager will also be tasked with creating and updating payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process by compiling and validating payroll data.
  • Resolve discrepancies and transmit accurate information to the payroll vendor for processing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of employee and employer 401(k) contributions.
  • Manage and resolve missed punches and time and attendance discrepancies.
  • Oversee payroll administration and record-keeping, including taxes, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable to provide necessary payroll information.
  • Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies to maintain employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll tax returns at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll tax transactions for compliance.
  • Complete and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and payroll tax returns.
  • Stay informed about new legislation affecting payroll and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Facilitate annual audits by delivering accurate payroll data for the 401(k) audit.
  • Create, document, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes.
  • Generate and present comprehensive payroll reports for management.
  • Create, implement, and update payroll policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll Tax, or related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience managing full-cycle payroll processing and tax compliance.
  • Recent experience with Workday Payroll, including proficiency in processing payroll.
  • Extensive knowledge of the full-cycle payroll process and tax compliance regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HR, finance, and other departments.
