About the position

Vaco is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join a leading player in the food industry. This role is crucial for overseeing all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing payroll processes for both hourly and salaried staff, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time. This includes data entry, payroll calculations, and deductions, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws specific to the food industry. In addition to managing payroll operations, the Payroll Manager will develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls aimed at streamlining operations and improving efficiency. Collaboration with HR, Finance, and other departments is essential to resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies. The Payroll Manager will also stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations affecting payroll in the food industry, providing leadership and guidance to payroll staff to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. The role involves preparing payroll reports, analytics, and forecasts for management review, as well as handling employee inquiries and requests related to payroll, benefits, and taxes. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of payroll processes within the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the payroll process for all employees within the company, including hourly and salaried staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including data entry, payroll calculations, and deductions.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws related to the food industry.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.

Requirements
