About the position

The Payroll Manager at Harris CPAs will oversee payroll operations for a multi-site organization, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in payroll processing across various locations. This role involves leading the integration of payroll systems for newly acquired companies, leveraging Workday to streamline processes and maintain consistency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Workday, multi-site payroll, and the payroll integration process during acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll processing across multiple locations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll operations.
  • Use Workday to manage payroll workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across sites.
  • Develop and oversee payroll policies and procedures that meet the needs of a multi-site organization.
  • Plan and execute payroll integration for newly acquired entities, ensuring seamless alignment with current payroll practices and systems.
  • Partner with HR, finance, and IT teams to integrate employee data from acquired companies into Workday.
  • Provide guidance on payroll transitions to minimize disruption for employees and maintain compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws, including multi-jurisdictional tax requirements.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and required compliance documentation.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to regulations across all sites.
  • Leverage Workday to automate and improve payroll processes, ensuring consistency across multi-site operations.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and workflow improvements within Workday to optimize payroll efficiency.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Workday updates and payroll module enhancements, implementing best practices where applicable.
  • Lead a team of payroll professionals, providing training, support, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and support company initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and leadership, particularly during transitions and integration processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience, with specific expertise in Workday payroll.
  • Strong experience with multi-site payroll and payroll integration during acquisitions.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll laws and tax regulations, including multi-state tax compliance.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
