About the position

The Payroll Manager will oversee payroll functions within a machinery manufacturing company located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This role is responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and handling various ad-hoc projects. The position is offered as a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the processing of payroll for exempt, non-exempt and union hourly employees
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of payrolls across all business units
  • Managing payroll tickets and resolving issues promptly and accurately
  • Working with payroll stakeholders to identify compliance and policy criteria
  • Supporting the redesign and evaluation of company processes in line with Workday and the OSV Managed Payroll service model
  • Handling special projects and audits as assigned
  • Developing accurate payroll reporting and analysis in partnership with management and department leads
  • Reviewing and balancing payroll, including variance analysis and explanations for each payroll cycle
  • Maintaining current knowledge of overall company operations, policies, and organization to provide effective customer service
  • Utilizing skills in Accounting Software Systems, Ceridian, About Time, Benefit Functions, Ceridian Payroll System, Workday HCM, Workday HRIS, Workday Integration, Workday Payroll, bi-Monthly Payroll, and Domestic Payroll.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in payroll management
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential
  • Experience with Ceridian Payroll System is mandatory
  • Familiarity with About Time software is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Benefit Functions is required
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Workday HRIS, Workday Integration, and Workday Payroll is a must
  • Must have experience handling bi-Monthly Payroll
  • Expertise in managing Domestic Payroll is required
  • Experience in Full Cycle Payroll is essential
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and discretion
  • Ability to manage and lead a team is mandatory.
