About the position

Sagility LLC is seeking a Payroll Manager to join our team in Westminster, Colorado. This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and administration within the organization. The Payroll Manager will ensure the timely and accurate payment of wages, taxes, and garnishments to employees while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, particularly with Workday and ADP systems, and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries. In this position, the Payroll Manager will manage the entire payroll process, including data entry, calculations, and distribution of payroll. They will be responsible for reviewing and verifying payroll data to minimize errors and discrepancies, staying updated with federal, state, and local payroll laws, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements related to payroll processing. The role also involves preparing and submitting payroll tax returns and liaising with payroll service providers and software vendors to optimize payroll processes. The Payroll Manager will identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations. They will implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline payroll workflows and reduce manual effort. Additionally, the Payroll Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, develop communication materials, and collaborate with HR colleagues to facilitate new hire orientations and other employee engagement initiatives related to benefits. This role requires strong organizational skills, analytical ability, and excellent communication skills to effectively support employees and ensure satisfaction with payroll services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Workday payroll process, including data entry, calculations, and distribution of payroll.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing payroll cycles, including regular and ad-hoc payments.
  • Review and verify payroll data to minimize errors and discrepancies.
  • Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements related to payroll processing, tax withholding, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns, forms, and filings as required by regulatory agencies using Workday and ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Liaise with payroll service providers, software vendors, and other external partners to optimize payroll processes and resolve issues.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations.
  • Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline payroll workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Respond to employee and partner inquiries, requests, and concerns via phone, email, or chat interactions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with product selection, customization options, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to meet their needs and preferences.
  • Investigate root causes of escalations and collaborate with internal departments to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Build rapport and foster long-term relationships with internal and external partners by providing personalized attention, addressing individual preferences, and exceeding expectations for service quality.
  • Proactively follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement in our services and processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, issues, and escalations.
  • Develop and deliver communications materials, presentations, and training sessions to educate employees about payroll, garnishments, payroll taxes, and banking.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to facilitate new hire orientations and other employee engagement initiatives related to benefits.
  • Communicate payroll policies, procedures, and deadlines to employees in a clear and timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of Payroll experience with a focus on HRIS, Compliance & Policy Formulation and Administration.
  • A strong understanding of Workday Payroll Administration and ADP tax administration is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, analytical ability, and intermediate MS Office Suite skills (Excel - tables, v-lookups, formulas).
  • Ability to work independently and collectively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented culture.
