About the position

The Payroll Manager at Select Dental Management is responsible for overseeing the payroll operations for over 700 employees and doctors across multiple states. This role involves processing high volumes of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of service and accuracy. The Payroll Manager will also manage vendor relationships, handle payroll tax filings, and support the integration of payroll processes during mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall operation, processing, and service delivery of the payroll function for over 700 employees and doctors.
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple entities and pay codes.
  • Ensure payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with all regulatory and state requirements.
  • Run various pre-payroll processing reports and perform necessary comparisons and audits.
  • Manage the Time & Attendance system, including auditing and resolving discrepancies.
  • Interface with managers and answer employee inquiries related to timekeeping and payroll questions.
  • Prepare and analyze periodic reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and historical data.
  • Own the payroll vendor relationship and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax agencies.
  • Perform year-end payroll processing tasks, including W-2 reconciliation.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll manager experience required.
  • Experience working for a multi-state and multi-site firm.
  • Prior experience in ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially with Pivot tables and Vlookups.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work cohesively within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of local taxes and remote employee taxing.
