About the position

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all payroll processing activities and payroll tax functions to ensure timely and accurate remittance in compliance with governmental regulations. This role involves establishing processes for wage payments, managing payroll systems, coordinating with various departments, and acting as a key resource for payroll-related audits.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain processes for timely and accurate payment of earned wages for all employees.
  • Review systems, controls, and procedures to achieve maximum accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
  • Manage, review, and audit the processing and retention of all weekly GL entries.
  • Act as a functional expert and provide a working relationship with Finance for the Payroll/Time system.
  • Coordinate payroll and payroll tax for multi-country shadow payroll with HR, Legal, and third-party advisors.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to meet expectations of payroll service delivery and compliance with timekeeping laws.
  • Act as a key partner for internal and external payroll-related audits.
  • Prepare and design special reports and analyses as required by various departments and government agencies.
  • Own the ADP payroll system, including implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from auditors and governmental agencies.
  • Assist with acquisition migration, system changes, and testing as needed.
  • Manage the payroll and timekeeping customer support service center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 7-9 years of multi-state payroll processing and tax experience Required
  • Payroll Certification Required
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local tax laws (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (High proficiency)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team collaboration skills (High proficiency)
  • Ability to maintain complex payroll records, summaries, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes and implement best practices.
